It was presented by Zócalo Public Square, a not-for-profit daily Ideas Exchange that blends live events and humanities journalism based in Southern California. Last year they published 600 articles and hosted 70 events in 11 different cities; they have a great readership among the region’s NPR-listening crowd (and a content-sharing agreement with affiliate KCRW).
Also,The Biggest Funk Fest was held in the Inland Empire June 1st from 3pm-8pm at the Pomona Fairplex to raise money for National College Resources Foundation (NCRF).
Funking up the stage and joining the cause were the legendary SOS Band, Dazz Band, Lakeside and Zapp Band.
