COUNTDOWN TO THE WORLD DANCE AWARDS 2013
Honoring the Best in Media Choreography, Breath-Taking Performances,
Celebrating & Appreciating the Art of Dance, Uniting the Dance Community
Despite dance being a driving force behind many major films, television programs, music artists, and breaking new media, the choreographers, or the “dance-makers”, oftentimes remain in the background.
Finally a show to recognize the choreographer, the 3rd Annual World Dance Awards (WDA), will honor and celebrate the best in media choreography for the year 2012 in the categories of Feature Film, Commercials, Music Video, Concert/Live Performance, Television Episodic, and Television Live Performance, and Television Live Performance Awards Show/Specials, at the beautiful Belasco Theater (1050 S Hill St, Los Angeles, CA 90015) on Sunday, October 13, 2013.

Hosted by Robert Hoffman (Star, Step Up 2: The Streets) and Carmit Bachar (Former Artist, Pussy Cat Dolls).
Witness thrilling performances by Mic Thompson, Trisha Miranda, Jay Chris Moore, Marissa Osato, Debra Brown (with the Luminario Ballet), Tracy Phillips &Dominic Carbone and Kyle Hanagami.
The WDA is also a night to unite the dance world together to celebrate the art of DANCE, and bring awareness to current issues facing the professional dance community.

Most of the nominees have confirmed their attendance to the show.
The awards will be presented by respected dance figures in the dance world, including Joe Tremaine, Sharon Ferguson, Vincent Paterson, Malachi Cohen among others.
The WDA added the Next Generation Award last year to open opportunities to up-and-coming choreographers. This year, Choreographer Kyle Hanagami won the Next Generation Award with his work “Give Me Love” for this year, and he will be showcasing his winning work at the WDA show.
The WDA is a show “by dancers, for dancers”, bringing together and uniting the professional dance community at large. In addition to the awards presentations and performances, there will be segments to educate and bring awareness to current issues facing the professional dance community by SAG-AFTRA, Dancer’s Alliance, among others.
General admission is $20 ($15 prepaid online), Reserved seats $40 ($30 prepaid online), and VIP seats $50 ($40 prepaid online). Prepaid tickets can be purchased at www.WorldDanceAwards.com. Part of the proceeds will benefit Career Transition for Dancers, a not-for-profit organization which has been providing career counseling for dancers free-of-charge nationwide since 1985.
