ICT’S 28TH ANNUAL ENCORE FUNDRAISER/JAMES ACKERMAN CRYSTAL ARTS & HUMANITARIAN AWARDS 

I was honored to serve as Master Of Ceremonies for this amazing and exclusive dinner event  honoring Honorable Robert Garcia, Vice Mayor of Long Beach, Dr. Matthew and Roberta Jenkins, and Honorable Suja Lowenthal, Long Beach 2nd District City Councilmember for their significant contribution to arts, culture and education.

Encore is International City Theatre’s Board of Directors’ signature annual, major fundraising event. All proceeds support ICT’s many outreach programs and productions. Their programs reach 50,000 people a year from every economic and geographic area of the city as well as surrounding communities from Los Angeles to Orange County.

The James Ackerman Crystal Arts and Humanitarian Award: ICT also acknowledges an outstanding member of the community who has made a significant contribution to the cultural life of this city and International City Theatre.

2013 WORLD DANCE AWARDS

To add to the busy weekend, I was Media Director and Hosted the star-studded Red Carpet at the Belasco Night Club on Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Downtown LA.

The Awards Ceremony was Hosted by CARMIT BACHAR and ROBERT HOFFMAN.

“WORLD DANCE AWARDS” is an annual international dance awards show, honoring and bringing public attention to the best in media choreography.  Current Categories are Feature Film, Television Episodic, Television Live Performance, Television Award Show, Commercials, Music Video, and Concert/Live Performance.  It is also a night to celebrate, educate, and bring awareness to the professional dance community.

HOLLYWOOD FILM FESTIVAL SPECIAL SCREENING

MichaelZ. Wechsler’s psychological thriller “The Red Robin,” starring AcademyAward-nominated, veteran actor Judd Hirsch (“Ordinary People”), who now isstarring in the theatrical production of  “The Sunshine Boys” with DannyDeVito in Los Angeles, will make its U.S. premiere as an official selection inthe Hollywood Film Festival.

The film will premiere on Friday, October 18^th  at7 PM at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood, with an additional screening onSunday, October 20^th at 2:45 PM. Earlier this year, thefilm received positive reviews after its Canadian debut at the Montreal WorldFilm Festival.

“TheRed Robin” also stars Ryan O’Nan (“The Iceman,” “Freelancers”) and CS Lee(“Dexter”), Jaime Ray Newman (“Red Widow,” “Tarzan”), Caroline Lagerfelt andJoseph Lyle Taylor (“Justified”).

Thefilm recently received Outstanding Achievement Awards in both Screenwriting andCinematography at the Oaxaca FilmFest 2013. Actress Caroline Lagerfelt (“GossipGirl”) received an Honorable Mention for her role as Dr. Schellner’s wife inthe film.

Screenwriter/director Wechsler produced the film with Shawn R. Singh, who isalso an executive producer on the documentary “Finding 52: The Search for theLoneliest Whale in the World.” Executive producers include Jonathan Sanger(“The Elephant Man”), Rick Porras (“Lord of the Rings”), Wendy Herst and KhushSingh, and Terry Keefe is co-producer.

Tom Swartwout, who edited Sidney Lumet’s last four films including “Before theDevil Knows Your Dead,” is the film’s editor and director of photography isAdrian Correia.

Saturday, October 19, 2013 please join the“PALM SPRINGSHISTORICAL DANCE THEATER”, an all male

modern dance company at the Annual Community Fair, sponsored by AgalonBaptist Church of Palm Springs. Many other businesseswill be there to publicize their company or organization, to the public.

The fair is free andwe will not be selling any of our products. It’s to let the PalmSprings, surrounding cities and Riverside County in general, whatbusiness are in the area and how to support them.

It will be held at the James O. Jessie Park on Tramview Road (off of IndianCanyon) inPalm Springs, CA from 12noon to 5pm.

Rivet is a riff-driven, no frills heavy rock band formed in Los Angeles, California. The band’s distinctive style/sound was created by their guitarist Mat Rile (MEDUSA, GRINDER, GROUND ZERO, S.O.S. , TRIP TRIGGER, etc). With Sleight (PSYCHO THRUST) raspy dirty-toned vocals & Mat`s grungy raw guitar tone – Rivet`s sound was born. Rivet has also recorded a 7 song CD featuring many of their best tunes. Now the band consists of two new members Tom Bielek (EOE) on bass and Sticky Stavinsky (ANESTHESIA, BLACK END ROOTS) on drums. Both of their unique style combined as a rhythm section adds a certain chemistry and a convincing “DEPTH” to the sound of Rivet.

Rivet delivers in everyway with catchy riffs, power, attitude and aggressive performance. Their music has a raw/pure sound that incorporates the influences of all the great bands from AC/DC, Soundgarden, Motorhead, Alice in Chains, Circus of Power, etc.

Rivet performed in many venues including the Key Club, Knitting Factory, Roxy, Viper Room, Whiskey a Go Go and the House of Blues on the Hollywood’s infamous Sunset Strip. They also opened for many national acts as well.

Rivet has been featured via media such as LA Weekly, Rock City News, Music Connection, and several cover features for All Access. They were also featured on theAdam Carolla radio show.
