The Artists In Music Awards was created to honor and recognize the best independent music artists from around the world in multiple categories.
What sets us apart?
Our integrity. The Artists In Music Awards isn’t a members only club. Artists do not have to subscribe to anything, nor does the artist need to be an exclusive member to participate. You do not need a million fans on your Facebook page. More importantly, you do not need to pay thousands of dollars to stand out. We strictly look at your product. That product is your music. We recognize and honor the best of the best.
More about the Artists In Music Awards:
Coming off the inaugural Artist In Music Awards event, we trekked in an unprecedented 1,375 people in attendance. Initially, we only anticipated 600 and hoped to bring in 800. The turn out far exceeded our expectations.
With our first awards show on our belt, we are diligently working on the 2013 Artists In Music Awards. Only this year, we will make 2013 even better.
Come join us on February 8, 2013 for one of the biggest music events in independent music right here in Hollywood, CA as The Great Unknowns Presents will be showcasing the 2013 Artists In Music Awards!

ABOUT MATT
Matt Zarley has received critical acclaim as an openly gay singer/songwriter; has been named one of People Magazineʼs “Hottest Bachelors”; has performed on Broadway; and, has had 4 consecutive Billboard Dance Hits. Named one of Billboard Magazineʼs “Critics Top 10” Picks for the year in 2008, Matt has continued to deliver hits that touch the heart, and the dance floor!
Chuck Taylor from Billboard writes: “(Zarley) sings, dances, acts and possesses grrr-dreamy appeal…Zarleyʼs stunning tenor range, crafty harmonic layers and spine-tingling money notes…Tweens have plenty of idols to swoon over. Hereʼs a crush for grown-ups, whose earthy machismo is quite the complement to his musical muscle….a marquee mainstream artist is born.”
Mattʼs passion for songwriting resulted in his first solo album, “Debut,” which was released in 2002 and receivedcritical acclaim, The set featured the dance hit, “You Always Want (what u ainʼt got)” and “Say Goodbye”; which is also featured on the all-star Human Rights Campaign (HRC) benefit CD, “Being Out Rocks.”
Zarleyʼs next recording, “Here I Am,” had its title track chosen as one of the 2008 “American Idol Songwriter” competitionʼs Top 20 finalists in the prestigious national contest. The EP also features the ballads “Had I Known,” “All That Matters,” a duet with Ty Taylor that focuses on gay marriage. Matt scored additional Billboard Dance Chart hits with “Where Did You Come From,” as well as a cover of the Steve Winwood classic“While You See A Chance,” featuring Billy Porter.
Zarley is also an internationally published songwriter and has had numerous songs recorded and released overseas by some of the biggest names in international music. In addition, Matt has the distinction of being named the first openly gay bachelor in People Magazineʼs “Hottest Bachelors” issue in 2002 – opening the door for other openly gay men to be featured in the mainstream publication.
Matt began his career at 12 years old starring in national commercials and, subsequently, his career led him toBroadway where, still just a teenager, he made his Broadway debut in A Chorus Line. Zarley has appeared innumerous shows and has played the title roles in both Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Whoʼs Tommy on Broadway. Matt also appeared in Cats, Chicago, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.
Matt was featured in the Disney TV movies, “Cinderella”, “Geppetto”, and “Annie”. Matt can also be heard on the new NBC musical drama, SMASH.
Mattʼs latest album, “Change Begins With Meʼ garnered near unanimous acclaim. Critics hailing it “inspiring”,“powerful”, “passionate”, “soaring”, “dreamy”, “poignant”, and “a rare breed of artist….soulful and impressive”.
The albumʼs first single, “WTF” became Mattʼs 3rd Billboard hit; while the music video became an internet cult classic. Mattʼs latest single, “Trust Me” was recently released and it quickly became Mattʼs 4th consecutive Billboard single. The music video has also become a viral sensation, having clocked over 100,000 views in its first 2 weeks of release….and growing.
Mattʼs fourth single and the title track of his latest album, “Change Begins With Me”, was just released along with a bonus remix (re-imagined and re-recorded by Matt) by 7th Heaven. The music video will also be released on August 27th, the same day he appears in his LA concert, “MATT ZARLEY: Broadway To Billboard” at Rockwell’s in Los Feliz.
